Analysis of why colony was founded and how this affected who moved to the colony:
Delaware was founded by Peter Minuit because of representation in Pennsylvania. The people did not want to travel all the way to Philadelphia and be represented because it was too far. They were also not getting represented properly because of the huge distance. Because of this, the people received a charter and created Delaware so they could have close, more personalized representation.
Analysis of government, geography, economy, and religion.
Separated from Pennsylvania for better representation, Delaware had a fairly representative government. Their economy relied on agriculture- wheat, indigo as well as iron ore products which matched with their flat lowland, fertile geography. Delaware was religiously tolerant like Pennsylvania, and kept a peaceful air all the years.
