New Hampshire
- Founded by: John Mason and John Wheelwright
- Year Founded: 1682
- Motivation: Massachusetts was getting too large so it was planned to create New Hampshire. Also, this colony was also founded for the purpose of establishing a colony for fishing.
- Geography: New Hampshire consists of sandy beaches, rugged mountains, and clear lates. They have a humid climate with warm, humid summers and cool wet winters. New England was the coldest of the three regions, mild and short summers leading to long, cold winters but less disease than in the warmer colonies.
- Industries and Economy: New Hampshire’s economy mostly consisted of timber, fishing, and mines for iron, silver, and granite. Concentrated in manufacture and focused on town life and industries such as ship building and the manufacture and export of rum. Imported agricultural products from other colonies. Farming was difficult for crops like wheat because of the poor soil but corn, pumpkins, rye, squash and beans were raised
- Religious Aspirations: Puritan, like most of the New England colonies There was no religious freedom in the areas inhabited by the Puritans as they did not tolerate any other form of religion.
- Government: By 1775 New Hampshire was governed as a Royal Colony. A Royal colony was ruled by officials responsible to and appointed by the reining sovereign of Great Britain.
- Celebrities: Franklin Pierce; Sarah Silverman
- Target Residents: New Hampshire had a cold climate, so they focused on fishing. It was founded for the purpose of establishing colony with a focus on fishing, so their industry attracted many fishers who believed they could make a profit. Because of it's cld climate, little to no farming was done in New Hampshire, so it was not the ideal place for farmers to go and settle, but the colony allowed Puritans to settle and practice their religion freely, therefore causing many Puritans to come and settle.
The New Hampshire colony and how it was set up was closely related to the Massachusetts Colony, as the New Hampshire colony was formed because of the Massachusetts Colony becoming too large. The Massachusetts colony affect New Hampshire's religious tolerance for Puritans, and a lot of other aspects like their economy. The 2 colonies had many similarities because of the many influences of the Massachusetts colony on New Hampshire. The climate of New Hampshire allowed it to have mostly the same industries as the colonies surrounding it.

Analysis of why colony was founded and how this affected who moved to the colony:
New Hampshire was a planned colony in which land was given to John Mason to create a fishing colony. The colony was separated from Massachusetts as it the latter colony was growing too big to provide for all of its people. The people of the colony lived in self ruled colonies but they were still under the bigger Massachusetts Bay Colony government. However, New Hampshire voters did not need to be members of the Puritan church. John Wheelwright founded Exeter when he was kicked out of New Hampshire for siding with his sister-in-law, Anne Hutchison. This brought people who were miserable under the Puritan rule to New Hampshire.
